Default Tires for 17x7.5

I bought a 2002 white Yukon and will be throwing a set of the 17" steelies police package vehicles usually get.

Looking for suggestions to what tire get on there. Is there a size chart out there that shows what will fit on this wheel? Can't seem to find one.

Here's what they look like for reference.

235 series tire would be best.

Not really. Discount had no problem putting them on, so if they're willing to do it, i'm sure it's safe.

When I say stretched I mean like this-

Not much sidewall give and rides rough. Looks dumb too unless you are a drifter.

235 is narrow imo for a 7.5" wide wheel... quite a bit.

8" wheels usually get a 245. I have 245's on an 9" and they are a little stretched but not bad.

Also depends on tire height aswell. More sidewall, better fit with slightly narrow rim.

Thats weird then because I had 235's on my old wheels and they were 7.5" wide with a slight bulge. Thats actually the factory tire size for the wheels I had. My new wheels are 9" wide and I am running 275's with little to no bulge.

my gtp has 8" wide wheels with 245s and they fit perfectly...

my suburban had 275/55/18s on a 8 inch wide wheel and that was awesome for that

I would lean towards having a lower profile tire.

I would be willing to bet that most tire manufacturers recommend 235 on 7.5 wheel.

nah.

like it was said before. depends on height.

stock gp wheels are 6.5 and come with 225's... i had 245s on a 7.5" wide wheel on my gtp and it was awesome.

but this is a truck... 235s on it will look like tractor tires. for sure. 235 width is what duallies run.

RS-a's suck dick, and have always been expensive. But they sell like crazy bc that's what the municipal cars run.

What's your purpose, just a good all-around tire?
