Default Acura Stability Control Question

Took a look at this car the other day, thinking about picking it up. Had Acura check it out and it's in great shape. They said transmission appears to have already been replaced so no worries there. Only issues with the car are a broken sway bar link (easy fix, whatever) and the VSA light (stability control system). They said it's on because the previous owner put aftermarket wheels on it that are actually an inch smaller than the stock Acura wheels which throws off the stability control sensors. Is this going to be an issue or will I just have to look at the light? Is there a way to re-calibrate the sensors? I really don't get why previous owner changed the wheels out. They only look slightly nicer than stock Acura wheels and they're 16" when stock is 17". Due to this being done fairly recently it does have brand new michalin tires all around though. Car is a 2002 Acura 3.2 CL Type-S.
