While lifting my jeep we knicked a brittle rear line and it pinholed. Drove 40 all the way home on the hwy to Lake Zurich from Elk Grove on nearly zero pressure..... Now I know napa sells the 20 odd foot line but is this something I could/should attempt or swallow it and take it to a shop for $250+? Or if somebody wants to do a side job.

You will need a tubing cutter, flaring tool, and possibly a tubing bender. Like Jason said it is easy to do. Couple years ago I broke a rear line going home from Victor's house in my Z. I did it myself, just had to buy the tools and a 5' section of line from the local auto parts store. If you were closer I would let you borrow the tools to do it, or give you a hand.
