I have a Turbo Fabrication Question

When running a single turbo, is placement of the turbo relative to the length of pipe to each manifold critical?

Reason I ask because early July starts project Compound Boost Marauder :clap:

The way I have it mapped out will require about 1 foot of pipe between the drivers manifold and the turbo flange, where the passenger side piping will be appx 3-4 feet.
