chipped rear end gear

this weekend put the car up on a lift, took everything out to pull the trans and replace the clutch, flywheel, and synchromax in the trans.

noticed rear end was leaking, so i went to vatozone and got a new gasket and gear oil. take the diff cover off and drain it, lookin at it all and inspecting it, and one tooth on one of the side gears (the 4 small ones in the very center of the rearend) has a tiny chip in it. its only the center of the tooth, and it's at most maybe 1/32". all the other components appear 100%

should i be concerned?

If it is very small, and in your spider gear set i would more than likely not worry about it. hard to say without a good pic.

A small chip in a tooth could be nothing or could be the start to the spider cracking all the way thur the gear. Really up in the air.

If you keep racing your car with the gear like that it will most likely fail and leave you stuck somewhere.
