I would say snatch that up with such low mileage on the body, and have that motor either rebuilt, or throw in short-block crate motor for less than it would cost to actually get a working one.

Why don't you go with the LS9, send it to LPE or something and call it a day? Then you know that your motor is pretty much bullet proof, unless you shoot it with a high caliber bullet.
