New Quali 3 Rules:
The FIA is to issue an imminent clarification to the teams imposing a maximum laptime for drivers in qualifying.

This will prevent drivers from going too slowly after they have finished their qualifying runs.

It is similar to the rule that is in place for drivers on their reconnaissance laps to the grid - which was prompted by fears of collisions between cars going slowly to conserve fuel and those going fast to evaluate their set-up.

An FIA spokesman confirmed that teams will be notified of the decision to impose a maximum time limit, which is likely to be 120 percent of a normal lap.

"The matter is under discussion and our clarification to the teams and drivers will be that cars returning to the pits having completed their flying lap or laps will be required to do so within a time that we will set," the spokesman told autosport.com.

"This could be approximately 120% of the 'normal' time as we do to prevent drivers going very slowly to the grid to save fuel."

thats basically it. one guy stops him at the line and holds him there, and then a guy at each end raises the car up, and then the guys w/ the impact guns pull the tires off, another set of guys is standing there w/ the NEW tires and throws those on, and then the guys w/ the guns tighten the tires up, a few guys hold the fuel hose and make sure it doesnt fly all over the place, and some other guys check the car and make sure nothings loose or broken, and make any wing adjustments if needed, and then once the guy holding the car there sees everythings clear, he lets the car go.

and this all happens in about 7 seconds.

sounds about right, welcome to F1.... no 20 plus second pitstops here.... even if they have to replace the whole front wing your looking at about 13-15 seconds or so.... cant beat that

McLaren put to back of Sakhir pitlane

:bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl:
Bahrain Grand Prix organisers have apologised to McLaren fans after having to demote the Formula One leaders to the slow end of the pitlane for next Sunday's race.

The garage allocation is based on last year's positions in the constructors' standings and McLaren were stripped of all their points in 2007 due to a spying controversy over possession of Ferrari data.

However the Mercedes-powered team, with Britain's Lewis Hamilton leading the drivers' standings, were given the fifth set of garages at the first two races of the season behind champions Ferrari, BMW Sauber, Renault and Williams.

Bahrain organisers had expected McLaren to take a similar position at Sakhir but said on Sunday they had been forced to make a late change after being told by Formula One Management that would not be the case.

McLaren will now get the last set of garages, next to tail-enders Force India.

"In Bahrain we do our utmost to ensure that fans of each team get to sit opposite their favourite team's pit garages to see the action unfold," said the circuit's chief operating officer Sheikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa in a statement.

"Sadly on this occasion, we must apologise to McLaren fans and accept that this is force majeure."

Bahrain's state-owned Mumtalakat holding company has a 30 percent stake in McLaren.

btw Kudos to ITV for blaming Alonso for brake testing Lewis in the accident.
I mean yea you guys are right..................

oh wait, Pat Symonds printed out the telemetry from the race that shows that Alonso never took his foot off the accelator pedal at that turn.

ITV wrong and jump to KAHNclusions? NEVER !

DC needs to retire. and by retire I do not mean go buy Toro Rosso just so he can have a permanent driving seat.
