The 2012 Subaru Impreza will be shown at the 2011 New York International Auto Show, and we've already got a teaser of what we're going to see. Compared with the Subaru Impreza design concept we saw in Los Angeles, this production version is less agressive and looks to lack the massive grilles of the concept-- but time will tell if that's a case of having only one profile shot.

This profile image is, obviously, the four-door, but Subaru promises that they will show both this and a five-door in New York. The Impreza will be powered by a 2.0 or 2.5-liter, next generation Boxer engine. The 2.0 will produce 146 horsepower and 145 pound feet of torque. Subaru also says this will return the best highway economy of any all-wheel drive car in the US at 36 mpg.

I average 26mpg @ 55-70mph, 21mpg @ 80+mph. The AWD is totaly worth it because I had 0 issues on my 25mile cimmutes through all the winter fun.

the newer hatches are sick

My favorite is also the 04-05 Billy. I like bugeyes, 06-07 and 09-11 hatchbacks too(not the sedans)

everyone has different taste, but I just can't get myself to like the 09+ hatchbacks. I think the ass end looks a bit "ricey" but the sedan is just boring...so I dunno what is better or worse. The sedan grew on me more in the long run

The tail lights are an easy fix with red overlays. I just don't care for sedans in general....
