Those as well as power steering coolers, trans coolers, diff coolers, and so on. There is a large amount of cooling needed in these, ever increasing, HP cars. Airflow is a big part of that. Pretty all high horsepower track engineered cars have a lot of frontal area dedicated to pushing as much flow thru the mountain of coolers needed to beat the crap out cars continuously lap after lap.

It better! The GTR is an incredible car. But let's face it, it is very long in the tooth at this point. And many reviews I have seen say that the last few years the car seems to rely on the computer more than anything anymore. Making the car feel numb and vague. It's still fucking fast in a straight line or on a road course. But a brand new release car better outperform car that is 11 or 12 years old.

Running circles around a GTR is asking a lot of any car. They may be long in the tooth, but still are very good looking at the numbers.

Agreed. The 2007 GT500 was nothing like the 2007 GTR. And that wasn't even that great of a GTR yet. Now we are talking 700+hp from the GT500 and 600 hp and 3,900 pounds from the current GTR. The GT500 should have an advantage there alone.

The current GT350 is an impressive track car. The GT500 should be that much better with a significant power bump, bigger brakes, and DCT.

If the GT500 is behind the GTR, I think Ford...well let's just say I'd be disappointed.

Technically it was a 2008 GTR. Car didnt go on sale in Japan until I THINK the very end of 2007.

I know a local guy that tracks 2015 911 turbo S and his buddy has 2013 GTR. He told me that too many times people get too focused on magazine tests with professional drivers. Many guys don't realize how much quicker high HP AWD cars with DCT are over high HP RWD cars in a hands of an average Joe that goes to the track 2-4 times a year

I agree, @95SC . Most people who buy these cars would even come close to using the car to its full ability. And many people have said the GTR does things it should not be able to do based on its weight, power, tire size, and so on. The engineers have tuned the car and use its systems to do things that seem go against physics. It is impressive for sure.

Not much. Nissan hasnt said a ton. I think one is "in development" but there hasnt been a single leak or video of a test mule...I think we're still 1-3 years away from anything, imo.
