Yeah...you can get a brand new Explorer Sport for ~$800 a month if you put $0 down and don't trade anything in LOL! ($800*60 months = $48k).

probably just pulled out what you had in your pockets at the time. $12k sounds about right for a roll held together with a thick rubber band.

This Exploder looks so much like the last one despite being on a completely different platform. Not a fan of the Edge looking front end. I'd have to get a lower trim model to get rid of the huge portrait center screen in favor of the smaller landscape screen.

Purely out of curiosity, besides towing capacity, what brings you to that conclusion?

I like the Durango and I am not nut swinging at all here. Just curious. I can't see a whole lot of difference between the two on paper. The Ford seems to have several slight advantages. Plus I am willing to bet that Ecoboost motor will respond very well to mods. Which we know not everyone cares about. We also know looks are subjective and sometimes that is really the only deciding factor for people. As we have seen with the Mustang versus better performing options on the market. haha I don't know the Durango that well. So maybe I am missing something that doesn't show in those stats.

I am also always amazed at the HP and MPG Dodge gets out of their V8 vehicles. Impressive indeed.

There's a lot of great cars in that price range. I'd go with a X5 or Q7 3.0T any day of the week.

Cause 5$ extra in gas really hits the pocket book if you are buying one of those..........

That front end treatment--yuck! I hate it on the Edge, too. Hopefully it'll look better in person, but I'm already looking forward to the mid model run refresh. That certainly helped the current Explorer after they sharpened up the head/tail lights to get away from the original blobbed on look.

Obviously going from transverse to longitudinal might affect intake and exhaust, but the current 3.0T doesn't gain THAT much with a tune. Not the 80/100 we're used to seeing, it's more like 50/30

Just read this is a trade magazine:

Quote:
The optional engine is the 3.0L EcoBoost twin-turbo V-6 producing 365 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque…over the current model powered by a 365-hp, 350 lb-ft 3.5L turbo v-6.

Thanks to the rear-drive chassis, the 2.3L-powered model can be equipped to tow up to 5,300 lbs.
