260hp/302tq if I remember right.

My fleet also has my wife's kid hauler that stock makes almost double the HP of a BRZ. And that's the lowest power in the fleet...

I'm content with being able to blow away a BRZ in the family SUV with 4 kids in the back at a stop light. So much more fun!

BRZs are dogs. They would be worth it for 10k.

i brought up shitty 2v mustangs and their pathetic low output stock. you say 200hp out of a 2.0l is sad, but 260 out of a 4.6l v8 is acceptable?

You're grasping for straws going back in time.

Is 200hp in 2017 less pathetic than 260hp in 2002? I'd say 200hp in 2017 is significantly more pathetic considering similar era automobiles

And for the record you mentioned my fleet. All of with is near or more than double 2017 BRZ horsepower.

Many things are important, in addition to horsepower. But when a car is so unbelievably, incredibly lacking horsepower in this day and age, it ruins the entire vehicle.

not really. camaro/trans am made 100hp more stock. grandpa's northstar caddy made near 300hp. the honda s2000 made 20hp less with a 2.0l I4.

the brz wasnt made to be a stop light racer. drag racing a brz is as dumb as road racing an exploder, or buying and modding a 2v mustang. your troll game is weak. we get it, you hate anything that doesn't have a blue oval on the grill. even if it's a better car

well, if it's so unbearable why is the sportiest car in your fleet something even less sporty than the brz. i'm free saturday if you'd like to visit the subaru dealer and see how we can upgrade you into a new brz ryan

Make a chart/table if you'd like. Take the 260hp the 2002 Mustang made, then compare that as a percentage of power vs. a Ferrari (360 I believe), a Corvette, a Z06, and a Z28 Camaro all in 2002.

Then do a similar analysis of the BRZ compared to today's performance cars.

I'm curious to see the percentages. This will also help mint understand since he speaks math.

i do speak math

2017 brz - 100 hp / liter
2002 gt - 56.5 hp / liter
2001 s2k - 120 hp / liter
2001 m3 - 104 hp / liter
2001 corvette - 61.4 hp / liter

conclusion: that gt does not have very impressive engineering in any era

because the mustang is clearing in the same class as corvettes and ferraris.

a valid comparison would be to take a brz and pit it against other light weight, rwd, 2 door cars that cost around $20k. which has happened in every magazine, and the car does well.

Mustang enthusiasts who like to mod their cars. The Mustang aftermarket is probably the biggest of them all.

I think you missed my point though. If you are an enthusiast and set on a Mustang, the GT or Cobra would have been your choice.

Now do the same analysis as hp / dollar of vehicle.

No...not at all. This would be an analysis of what "pathetic" horsepower in an era would be.

Real comparison is power to weight ratios, not $ to hp, IMO. My Z06 taught me the value of this more than any car I've ever owned.
