This Is a Widebody, Non-Demon, Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat

Before the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was officially released, we had heard that Dodge would be building a widebody version of the Hellcat, possibly called the ADR. However, when the Demon was unveiled, we had assumed that car was the widebody Hellcat we had been hearing about.

But what if it wasn't?

These photos show a widebody Hellcat that isn't a Demon lurking around Chrysler's offices in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Why do we say it isn't a Demon? It has Hellcat badging and, more interestingly, a Hellcat hood, along with manufacturer tags.

So what is it? We have some theories.

First, it could simply be a widebody option pack for Hellcat, that way people who want Demon looks but don't need the Demon's dragstrip prowess don't have to make do with your typical Hellcat body. What this could also mean is that Dodge has been testing both the Demon and the widebody Hellcat publicly under our noses for months.

Second, and what we really hope, is that this is some sort of Hellcat T/A. Think Demon but for road courses. The flares can hide wider rubber, so that means more grip, and it's likely that splitter can help with front downforce. Maybe it's also hiding a revised track suspension. Do we know this for sure? No. Are we speculating? You bet. Can we dream? Yes. Yes we can.

Third, and this is another possibility, but this could be the all-wheel drive Hellcat we've also heard rumored. We know that the powertrain now exists since it's in the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, and we know that the Challenger can be all-wheel drive thanks to the Challenger GT. Put that together, and you have a crazy fast muscle car.

A source tells us we can expect this new, widebody Hellcat to debut this summer.

next up is a viper v10 challenger, a twin turbo challenger called the death-demon-hellcat-challenger, a front wheel drive 4 cylinder challenger, a wagon challenger, a challenger that smells like peppermint, a challenger that has tank treads and so on.

Just make a new god damn platform for this thing already. Use the Alfa Giorgio plaform.

Let the cops buy a Charger Hellcat first and then get it used? Or send your Charger/Challenger out to Armormax for the AWD install?

Move over Ford Explorer Interceptors because there's a new sheriff in town. Utah-based Armormax has revealed its latest armored vehicle, and it's none other than the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.

First spotted by Carscoops, the Charger SRT Hellcat boasts various armored protection levels depending on the customer's wants, but there's one feature that really grabs attention: available all-wheel drive. Of course, Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles has never offered AWD for its Hellcat models from the factory.

Armormax told Motor Authority the company can outfit the bulletproof Charger SRT Hellcat with AWD as part of an in-house conversion process. Customers simply check the box and the company will ensure 707 horsepower finds its way to all four wheels rather than just the rears. That may make a decommissioned Armormax Charger SRT Hellcat a highly desirable used car in the future.
