Just a rumor from a random source but I was talking to the guy sitting next to me at a bar after PRI. He owns an injection molding company and claims to have prototyped a corvette engine cover for Chevrolet. He said it was strange that the Chevrolet bow tie logo was upside-down on the part, indicating it could be for the upcoming mid engine car...

Rumor mill is claiming the car will debut at Detroit next week (or maybe this weekend - forget when the auto show starts).

There are a bunch of industry events Saturday and Sunday, but the show doesn't officially start until Monday. Chevrolet's press conference is 6 pm on Saturday.

We know from the leaks and the McDonald’s car that the “zora” will use 4 small square exhaust tips. I also can’t stand when renderings of next-gen cars use the old models headlights and tail lamps like this rendering.

GM doesn't care. Car and Driver had a 98% accurate rendering of the C7 and GM denied that was design for months after.

My buddy is in insurance and one of their clients is GM. He had dinner with a guy who said he had one in his garage, it will be a 2020 release. They will continue to make the c7 while the c8 mid engine Vette is out. That’s about all the info he could get.

gm better be prepared to offer 50% off msrp deals on the c7 if they try to sell them along side each other instead of the 25% offers they have now on the 4 model years currently available new on the lots.

The C7 is still a hell of a car...Aren't too many cars in its price range that are as quick. Shit, if they offered 50% off MSRP of a base C7, I'd jump on it, and I'm not even a Corvette fan. No chance in hell they will though

I'd think that the C8 mid engine model would sell at a much higher MSRP than the C7. The current Stingray MSRP is $55K. I'd guess the C8 starts somewhere in the $80-$100K range.

I'm still not convinced this car will be a C8. Different model in the Corvette family. Stingray will live on while the Zora is offered as the flagship.

yeah, when i think c7, i think c7z06 i don't even consider the base, so my point is if the c8 is 80k they better get ready to discount the c7z06 way harder than they already are.... and they are already significantly discounting.
