Never really been a fan on nissan in general. Have never owned one and most likely never will.

I like the current gen Maxima and then I remember CVT and front wheel drive and that's the end of that though. I'm thinking about the same here. I like it. It's more muscular but CVT and front wheel drive. No thanks.

I drove the Infiniti Minivan thing they make (JX35) and it had the 3.5 mated to a CVT. It was one of the least fun vehicles I've ever driven. I mean just horrible. The CVT manages to leech any semblance of sportiness from the powertrain and it's not as if the VQ engines are known for being mediocre.

For the love of all things sacred I don't know why they stick with these transmissions. A Maxima could be a fun, sportier alternative to a Accord or Camry.

the maxima used to make sense when the altima was a smaller car. I don't really understand why nissan makes two of the same car now. Ever since they put the 3.5 in the altima it was the end of the maxima imo.
