Touted as Denmark’s first Hypercar, the edgy looking Zenvo ST1’s design is 100-percent Danish, hailing from the town of Praesto, about an hour south of Copenhagen. Nestled amidships is an engine that is based on the LS7 GM Small Block V-8, but the block and heads are designed and cast by Zenvo, and a forged crank purchased from the U.S. destrokes the displacement to 6.8 liters.

It utilizes both supercharging and turbocharging (hence the model name, ST-1, for first model) to produce 1086 hp at 6900 rpm and 1055 lb-ft torque at 4500 rpm. That oomph is routed through a choice of six-speed manual or seven-speed paddle-shifted transmissions built by Cima in Italy (which supplies Pagani), and it includes a Torsen rear diff. With a curb weight claimed at 3500 pounds (for a 3.2 lb/hp weight-to-power ratio), 0-to-62 mph is said to take just 3.0 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 233 mph. It’s stuck to the ground with Michelin Pilot Super Sports, sized 255/35R19 in front and 345/30R20s in back wrapping forged 9.5- and 12.5-inch wide rims.

Measuring 183.6 x 80.4 (without mirrors!) x 47.2 inches in length, width, and height, it’s 4.3 inches shorter in length, 0.6-inch wider, and 2.6 inches taller than a Lambo Aventador. The car will be entirely assembled by hand with all interior colors and materials tailored to suit the owners’ preferences, and the company pledges to build only 15 of them thusly in order to ensure exclusivity.

We first reported on this car when the prototype was first announced in December, 2008, and the production version made its global debut at the Dubai International Motor Show last year, but we missed that event, so Geneva afforded our first chance to check it out in the flesh. It is fetching, and the decision to handle most of the aerodynamic downforce generation with the flat floor and venturi tubes leaves the body surface refreshingly free of aero doodads. The company has built eight examples so far, and parts to start several more, so the waiting time will be just three to four months for new orders. But you'll need to register this 800,000-Euro baby at your summer home in Europe, as they're not exporting the ST-1 to North America.

I loved it on that episode of Top Gear. At 800,000 pounds, it's pretty pricey for a first-time attempt at hypercar status tho. I would also want to see it on a dry track on Top Gear too. IIRC the "slower than a Focus ST" was with the ST on a dry track and the ST1 on a very wet track in the rain.
