n December 11, 2013, a 700 HP Hennessey C7 became the first 2014 Corvette Stingray to break the 200 mph barrier by reaching a maximum speed of 200.6 mph. This was achieved on a closed section of the Grand Parkway which connects I-10 to Hwy. 290 on the west side of Houston, Texas. Officials from TxDOT, Texas DPS and TransCore were on hand to witness the testing of the EZ tag toll system.

The Hennessey C7 Corvette was equipped with the company's HPE600 upgrade with the addition of a 100 HP Nitrous Express kit. Now apearing in Hanover Park
I love the bullshit reason they give for doing this, as if iPass, EZPass and a billion other RFID systems haven't been out and tested for years.

I love the new Vette.

Gets the message to stupid teens that watch youtube all day, that they cannot avoid the toll by doing 95 in their 15 year old honda mini-van. Works as a PSA. :dunno:

Here's an interesting bit from the press release:

In addition to the 200-mph C7, Hennessey also brought out its first HPE600 supercharged Chevrolet SS that, despite being gear-limited, easily achieved 164.2 mph on the Grand Parkway.
