keeping the engines in the sweet spot for power and efficiancy is far better that making the work from below and above thier efficiant rpm range making them more fun to drive and mroe fuel efficient. semi trucks and heavy equipment use them all the time and they typically have a very narrow powerband of witch they make thier peak torque and approx peak hp if u can keep an engine in the rpm band bewteen the peak tq and peak rpm it will also be at max effieciancy

except semi trucks have gone from 18 speeds using 3 shifters down to 10 speeds using one shifter :dunno:
