The World Motor Sport Council met in Paris on Wednesday and announced on Wednesday afternoon it has decided that from 2009 Formula 1 engine life will be extended from two to three races.
In 2008 Formula 1 drivers had to use the same engines over a period of two races. Just once per season they could use the 'joker' and do a free engine change. Would a driver change an engine again it will cost him ten places at the grid. As of 2009 though the F1 engines will have to get even more reliable as it will have to last three races.
