gauge cluster mileage transfer

have a few bulbs out on the whole left half of my gauge cluster. found a clean 03-05 LS Sport cluster in a junkyard a few months back and just remembered about it. The gauges all work to spec with my car and the lights all work, speeds are proper, et cetera. Mileage is way off though and that bothers me.

I'd just go with that guy, I had a 9c1 impala a while ago that I put a Monte SS cluster in it. I was going to have him change the miles but I sold the car before I gave a fuck.

Might not even need to solder, sometimes they're just twist-lock in. Also, if its a 10+ year old car and it's higher than the titled mileage, fuck it.

Exactly why I went to a junk yard and bought the cluster for $30, it ends up being cheaper than having an LED conversion done or having someone repair the actual cluster in the end long as the transfer is under $100.

I also will end up gaining two gauges.. oil pressure and a volt meter.

Looks a little better , too.. that was from when I test fitted it. There's a 30k-mile difference. It's enough to bother me.

The other reason I wanted that was because these sport pack clusters seem to have less light failures than the other ones.. don't know why, but I'm totally ok with that. I can't see my engine coolant temperature or my fuel gauge at night.

The sport pack cluster is 170,594. Car is at 198,001 right now.

The difference would be one of those things that would nag at me unless I fix it before I install the cluster.

So your odometer lights are out, if so thats an easy fix. I repair those all the time. Let me know.

they are non-servicable. found a place in glendale heights that will do the transfer for $80.

Tech 2 can't change the mileage, but service program system via tis2web can. Problem is you'd need an MDI and about $10,000 worth of licenses to use that. Best bet would be an odometer disclosure sticker in the door jamb.

you CAN just swap the odo module on alot of GM's but since you have a different cluster it may not be the same.

also you will have to repin the harness and buy the 40$ oil pressure sending unit for that gauge to function

either pay the $ to have someone asuage the nagging voice in your head over a less than 5% odo difference.

or try to swap the module yourself, with its possible result of leaving you with two broken clusters or not being physically interchangable and having to reassemble sans odo swap.

or just swap it in and spend the $ to get the additional gauge functions to work.

or do an odometer disclosure
