My brother picked up an very clean, low milegae 1995 Regal GS Coupe. '95 was the last year for a Series I 3800 in the Regal. They didn't put the supercharger in Regals, but they did in Riviera, Park Aves, etc.

On the Series I L67, are the injectors in the head like the series II? If not and the heads are the same, this would be an easy swap.

The injectors aren't in the head of a SI s/c like on the SII s/c but I'm skeptical of the idea that there's nothing else to prevent that from working... I'm sure James would know.

wanna know what sucks though? he's still gotta swap to a SII harness/pcm and an early L67 bin with 60e trans settings or swap in a 65e/65ehd and 3800 monte axles.
then youll be able to tune it.

on the plus side yeah inj are in the intake...i was putting the 95 SI L67 topend ont my 90 LN3 with SII harness/pcm before i switched up up...again
its better to put the SI M62 sc'd setup onto the NA longblock anyways with the smaller blower size than the SII.

Yes, it would be a L27. Rated at 170 HP. The 1995 Series I L67 was rated at 225 HP. Sounds like a nice bump to me.

Since the injectors are in the intake, then wouldn't this be a straight foward 'top swap' without changing heads? Find a 1995 Series I L67 in a Rivera and swap the intakes & pulleys over.

I'm sure there is some more to this, but maybe.....;)

Just need to find someone that's done it and find out what the pitfalls are.

....you cant tune the OBD1 ECM and just swapping in the SC ECM wont work well since its an NA shortblock and prob wont tolerate the same timing.

yes it is an intake away but you have to swap the pulleys, acc drive brackets, dampner, coolant tubes, modify harness for BBV solenoid.

then tell him to kiss his trans goodbye, only the SI L67 had the 4t60eHD and it was marginal even then. at that point he's gonna want to upgrade to a 65ehd and the OBD2 PCM/harness...cause then you could actually tune the damn thing.

on the plus side once its tunable you can use the more efficient later blower with the smaller pulley on the earlier blowers, bigger injectors, etc etc

i have most of the parts sitting in my garage
