ebay headers leaking

i have some ebay headers i think they are the ss chrome/auto type. has anyone got them not to leak at the crossover for sure, its loud. i can feel the exhaust . leak where the the front header and xover meet there is a band clamp but does not work at all anyone know of anything that will seal these things right

is this the type where both ends of the xover are slip fits? basically the slp knockoffs?

do you have the ~1inch wide ring clamps or the true 3 inch wide band clamps?

Honestly i dont know . what i do know is ive had them for about 2-3 years when i bought them the only two that were available were obx and then the ones i have ss chrome or ss auto they have a super low down pipe. someone came up with a fix for that but i never did it

i have the original donkey punch performance ones...aka the first batch of these headers... i got the slip joint band clamps the ones that have the grove in them for the slip joint.. threw a little copper rtv on them and tighten as james and v showed me.. tighten one bolt a little bit then do the other.. equal force helps to reduce the leaks.. they been running strong oh 3 yrs hasnt been off or had a leak since.

you have the narrow clamps (1 bolt) or the wide one's like bigsammoe posted a pic of?

get the stepped clamps, ive tried using those but connection clamps on a lap joint before and havent had any success getting em to seal with those...the step clamps and copper rtv works great.
i think he was refering to the headers being on the cutty

The headers was the easiest thing to do ..... NOT hell and a lot of banging on junk ... Breaking junk and a lil cutting of a lot of junk good thing I wasn't the one doing it

Yeah it's swapped.... I can get some of the under body in the next couple hours I dont have any on hand... The fire wall is what real had to be mod'd to get them to work

Summit.. Amazon.. Jegs all have the step clamps.. think its 3 inch for rear and 2.5 for cross over.. i could be wrong its been a minute since ive done the old headers

when i was talking to jreed (see told ya i already forgot yer name ) it seemed he was talking that it had two slip fits in the Xover.
those clamps should be for a 2.5"od to 2.25"od pipe lap/slip joint x2 then yeah a 3inch down low but i think these ebay one's had a 2 or 3 bolt lower DP flange/ or maybe a Vband so he shouldnt need a lower clamp.

iirc the headers are on that cutty right?
on the 442 i just rewelded a preproduction Plog with a ported rear manifold and slapped it in

Rockauto also has them but you need the part number first. I will check the box that i used and reply.

if thats the clamp that came with it.. which it looks like it.. those are cheap and the Nut will weld onto the bolt....

i got a stainless one from summit pretty cheap and also was alot tougher and more better...

those are the knockoff slp's then...doesnt someone have the DPP headers around here?

Jreed was saying he has some parts for it but needed a pcm flash so he could drive it and get emissions/tags iirc

brian are you referring to the 442's bay? its corroded to hell now lol
