Next step?

Not looking to do anything crazy, but wondering what the next mod would be on a GTP like mine. Car is currently running, Thrasher intake, rockers (not sure on ratio), pacesetter headers, 3.2 pulley and a tune. I don't want to spend a bunch of money, and dont want the car to get unrelaible. Just do not know what the next reasonable mod would be.

find a used full size IC for the biggest gains without using nitrous or changing cams. It will work with your current mods and will allow you to safely increase power with smaller pulleys and timing latar on.

I was thinking maybe a ported blower? I don't want it to get too ridiculous, I'll probably only ever take it to the track once or twice a year, and I need it to be my daily all year.

I threw a ported blower on my setup with similar mods (and a 3.4 pulley because I haven't really tuned the car) and didn't notice a huge difference.

I would definitely throw on an Intercooler next. Unless you want to upgrade to the Gen5 sc... Both are pretty darn reliable.

PS: You will probably feel blah if you port the Gen3

was just going to bring that up actually.... A small shot will do a toooon on that car. 75 ponies of juice will probably end up more like 100+ from cooling the charge down

Gen 5 blower bolts on and just flows more, even more when ports? I kinda like the idea of spray, would leave the car as relaible as it is now, until I take it to the track, etc.

I am putting my other expensive hobbies on the backburner and making it a priority now. I'm a bit overly cautious with my finances and plan on putting a decent amount down.

I'm new to these things which is why I'm asking. Although, I think an i/c is a little more work/money than I wanna do. I might just leave the car alone and do some asthetic stuff.

IC wouldnt be THAT much more work that a ported s/c, gotta take it off anyways lol

buy SyP's IC kit if he still has it FS, put it on and with those rockers, smaller pulley and a tune you'll be at least 1/2 second faster or more

dont do anything more to the exterior of that car imho

Not really sure how you expect it to stay reliable by modding it... You know the transmission will surely go out at some point with more mods? My forward apply band broke and I was still running stock and babying the car.

Anyway, cautious side over with. I would say port your TB and supercharger and do the aesthetic stuff. Porting is free, so leaves money for other goodies. =)

I've been meaning to make a thread asking if anyone had any other info on the previous owner of the car. Ron Vogel welded up the shifter on my track car and mentioned that it belonged to someone who had a centrifical set up on it, but never ran it that way.
