HID Fogs

I was told that I would need to upgrade the housings if I wanted to run HIDs in my fogs also. However, when I did a search for more info, no one mentioned doing this.

Also, what does everyone generally do for the output on fogs? The HIDs in my headlights are 5000k, should I go higher or lower for the fogs?

I just installed some in a buddies '00, he got the 35 Watters from DDM. They seem to be going well and the install was a breeze.

If you got 5000k in the headlights I would match or go lower. Yellow would look good which is around 3000k. It's honestly a hit or miss with the stock fogs so it's your call. Some people go through multiple sets because they melt after a while and some people say they've been running theirs for years with stock fogs.

Buddy just picked up a full set of replacement heads and corners for 60 bucks on eBay.

Reason being is that yes, the HID bulb is 35 watts but it's also long and will be closer to the glass. Thus as Birdman said, it's a hit or miss.

Color wise... it's a personal choice. I would say match.

I have Cyberwhites with PIAA H3s in the fogs way before I got 5K HIDs and they look pretty good... until they go out.

I'd buy the glass universals and run a 55w personally. I'd stay with 5000k otherwise it looks funny

I say match the colors, I put HIDs in my fogs just so they would match.
