well my moms 98 gp gt wont start, so i pulled the starter and it tests out just fine, so im stumped now lol... the battery is good also, when I turn the key nothing happens, no click from the starter or anything... anyone got any ideas?

thats a dead ringer for the battery terminal issue or a bad cellI had that before and i jumped it and everything was fine after that
i had to replace one of the big 3 wires in a malibu once that caused a problem much like yours. i would look into what james i talking about.
do you hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key but dont try to start it.
your right that would be a good indicator the ign switch is still switching to the run position but that wont verify that the crank position is workingI would think the switch is alright then

if you can hook up a snapon redbrick/or other scantool and see if the pcm see the cranking signal that will tell ya whether its the ign switch or a secondary circuit problem
not all scantools will read that Pid but most professional scanners will
