so all you did was reverse the hole? If you could have found a nice sheet of 1/8" sheet metal and cut out the size to fit the hole that would have been better i would think. That way you wouldn't have that raised as bubble

I could have, but this was free, and already has the mount for the spare. I never put crap in my trunk...so I really don't care (wow, that rhymes). I stopped by Lowes to do the sheetmetal thing...just wasn't worth the coin to do a flat piece. I can't bead roll...so thin metal would be too weak, and thick would be too heavy.

Doing it this way was the most logical choice.

so let me get this straight...your going to mount the spare under the car?
Yeah, but I am going to use a single muffler with 2 outlets. The "bubble" sits down too low to fit a muffler there.

If I need to change it, I can always put it back. I did 8-10 spot welds, and body puttied the rest. It'll be a snap to pop it out, and flip it back over.
