As die hard 60 degree I used to be, a deal has stumbled upon me that I don't think I wanna pass up.

Only problem is the transmission took a dump. It's a 98 Monte with a 4t65e

I don't know what was so different about 97, but wasn't it an odd year for the transmission? Computer? IDK. But I know it's not the choice L67 to look for.

Question is would a 97 Regal's 4t65eHD work on this 98 Monte or is there something the matter that will unable me to slap it on?

Thanks!

I know for sure you would need a new passanger side axle if you go with the HD. You would however be better off going with another non HD trans, and just getting the HD diff, diff cover, and the odds and ends. The non HD trans has the 3.29 gears opposed to the 2.93 gears the HD has. The TCC stalls a bit higher as well.
