Sounds Diffrence with Headers on 3800

Just out of curiosity, will there be a sound difference after installing headers and 3 inch dp on a stock exhaust? Ive tried to find sound clips but all the ones I have found have more mods done (reso delete, new mufflers etc).

Will it be any louder or pretty much stay the same?

not louder... maybe a lil different sound, but not much.

Just cruising around I didn't notice any difference from my previous 3-inch downpipe setup. But anymore than about 50% throttle and there was a definite change in tone. It got raspier and the unavoidable 3800-headered sound came through during WOT and heavy throttle.

I used a high-flow cat instead of the stocker but the remainder of the system was unchanged: bullet-style resonator and Magnaflow mufflers.

With just the addition of headers I went from a 13.9@99mph to a 13.7@102 mph.
