So after finally getting my car back and after having all my stuff installed, I was driving the car and turned left QUICKLY onto a side strees and the fricking pass side axel went out. I was/am so pissed off. I just feel like I cant get a head with this car. I apperently have to fix it but I want a good one. any ideas, the one i put in last time was a napa one. Any hints???
I got a napa one, held numerous 11.8-12.0 passes on slicks, proved itself to me. Either that or find a low mile gm axle. OR Jared has some w-body store axles too, but i need those later in the season so get a napa one.
The good thing about Napa, is they have a warranty. Id get low mile GM ones if I had to replace mine. Supposedly mine (SFPHQ) are "bullet proof" but they have been broken.
Kind of syp. I was turning and another car was comming so i accelerated kind of quickly but not at full. The one I had in was a Napa one. So if you nail it when you turn that is what causes them to go??
it hurts any CV axle when you accelerate while turning. GM did a good job with these cv axles (they had FWD pro stock type drag cars) i find it very hard going with a reman or non-GM axle. The GM axles can take a lot of abuse in a straight line but they can hold pretty good in the turns.
The only good thing about the NAPA axles is the warranty. Half the time they'll give you the wrong axle though, be it for the opposite side, for a non-HD, for a 60E, etc.
