i found i have to leave the shroud off.......? doesnt seem like any trimming is going to work....

I can't leave it off on this car, it's the only thing really holding the bumper together. You can trim it down to fit, it only took me a few minutes with the sawzall. If you trim the plastic tray, you also need to use a 1" hole saw to make a place to route the coolant lines. For the fill, I ran it where you ran it, but I made a metal brace to hold the fill tube with a pipe hanger; looks pretty cool!

I also welded studs to the bottom of the bumper to mount the FMHE...nice and solid.

i saw the cgp thread the pushrod damage seems to be lower than where the pedestals are usually in contact with...plus steel >alumn so i wouldnt expect to see that wear like that...i'm betting some of the casting flash from the iron heads is actually the culprit...thats more inline with the kind of wear i saw on the pushrods

the casting cleaning/deflashing is pretty hit-or-miss with the OE heads (much like other stuff lol)

thats exactly what it was....nice call james. i was ASSuming that because the rockers and pedistals are what were changed, that they were the problem. we were able to remove the excess casting material tonight, and cleaned it all up. car runs great....now onto tuning...:bigthumb:
