what is stock timing?

i was under the ASSumption that timing on a stock gtp is around 16*...true?

i loaded a stock timing table, and found im still only getting 12* timing wot....heres a scan....im sure theres something i'm missing here....maybe im on the bad fuel table? im thinking of copying the good fuel table to the bad fuel table...?

any ideas?

a hidden table that changes timing based on afr. (I think its called timing vs afr) I believe if you are running a stock timing table with this zero'ed out you should get about 12'. But if you dont know what im talking about its probably another issue.

ill just bump the timing and see what happens when it's dry out. anyone else know where to upload my scan?

You don't need credits to scan with hpt so scan with that and post it on here. It's better that table is 0'd out anyways, so don't even worry about it. Just add timing like you're going to do.

Timing is based on manifold pressure. At around stock to 11 psi it's around 15-16 degrees. If you are pushing 15-16 psi you'll see less.

That must be a pt table cause there's nothing like that in hpt. The only tables the computer references for spark is, engine coolant temp, intake air temp, and afr.

Well, I misspoke...the table isn't really manifold pressure, but what the computer calculates for cyl pressure. I'm surprized HPT doesn't have it.

that would make sense then ron...with higher compression and 14psi it would lower timing. I wonder if adding to the good fuel table would even allow me to add timing? I need to get it up to around 16-17
