I need some trouble shooting help

My friends mom hit a pot hole w/the RR tire in her 02 GP GT, and now when she hits a bump the rear of the car jumps/pulls to the right but only the rear. When i was underneath i didn't se anything boken, but the sheet metal the has the u-brackets the holds the stabilizer bar in place was bent (i believe) on the passenger side. I straightened it the best i could, but it still jumps/pulls. Anyone else have any suggestions?

I had a rear strut break in my '95 and I had bump noises...

hmmm never looked at them. I did however check to make sure the strut was alright

They car doesn't bounce any different than stock or have any unusual noises, it just shimmeys/jumps to the right. I tried to see if it would jump left but you never find enough bump when your ACTUALLY looking for them

If that bent u shaped bar, (trailing arm) is out of wack, the toe will then be jacked. That stamped steel POS is notorious for bending from nasty pot holes. Replace, have alignment check, call it a day.

check the strut mount, check the rim on the balancer to see if it is bent and get a wheel aligment

Yeah the arm wont bend back, get it replaced... Check the mount, checking the rim is also a good idea....

the car drives straight, but whn you hit a bump is the only time it moves. She's going to have those things checked out though

but the correct way to fix it is to replace it, but i've bent several back without problems....

throw a monkey in the trunk with a flashlight and drive on a bumpy road while looking at the strut mounts.

+1 for having a little fun withthe poor bastard while they're back there...always fun with the fng's lol
