i blew my trans..i need your advice

my trans started to shift from first and then 2-4 within seconds so i put a tech2 to my car and it read that i had a bad shift solenoid and to replace my torque converter because it was stuck on open..i started to get these problems around january and i figured i wont beat on it but races happen and it got worse and i blew it on the way to work tuesday... my 1st gear sounds like a stick shift trying to engage then it would start to vibrate..and the only gear undamaged was reverse so imagine driving 2 blocks to work in reverse...it was funny to watch..

i talk to my mechanic and he wants me to do a complete rebuild...i have the 3.29 gears from tommygloves and i still need a torque converter with a 2000 stall and a master overhaul kit from http://www.autorepairmanuals.biz/site/573683/product/KB6600V and clutches from raptor trans. 4T65E Raybestos Blue Plate Special clutch module... http://www.transmissioncenter.net/alto_2.htm

check out getting a trans from zzp or w-body store.
my GF got her trans done at Atomic, it was just under $1800 for a full build with koleen steels, raybestos clutches, shift kit, hardened input shaft and a 2200ish converter. that price was installed. ya cant beat it.

they will do it cheaper as a bench job. if you need someone to do the R&R, PM me, i might be able to help

2000 stall sounds AWFUL LOW. i think stock on a GTP is around 2500... mine is 3K and it doesnt effect drivability at all...

well im going to get a 3000 stall, blue clutches,trans pump, shift solenoids, gasket kit for the rebuild and install my 3.29 gears in it....if i get a lil more money il buy the input shaft, and the better 4th gear
