TCS off do anything beside the obvious?

I think in the past I heard of people turning there TCS off. Other than the obvious, traction control off, does it do anything? The reason I ask is because I think I recall people saying that it increases performance.

Ive tried it and it doesn't seem to do a damn thing,.

Go try to light up the tires with traction control on, it wont happen. The car knows it is breaking traction and or being beat on and will pull timing or cut fuel to reduce the power. It does a lot more than that, but it can damage the car if you are beating on it with TCS on. It is meant to help keep the car under control.

Mines got stabilitrack too so its harder to roll it over. FUCK THAT! I have to turn off the TCS and stabilitrack to even do donuts in the snow. This thing really whips around quick in a snow filled parking lot thanks to AWD.

it doesn't have anything to do with performance shift. my ABS is disabled, more like fucked up and my lazy ass has yet to fix it. when there is a problem with the abs system, TCS is off too.

Yeah my ABS was bad for a while. All of the sudden it just decided to fix itself...

I saw you post so I thought I would throw that performance shift idea in there

I believe the PCM cuts fuel as well as timing. I heard someone actually popped a piston cause they were fucking around with TCS on, hit a wet patch of road, revved the engine, pop went the piston.

If it was true or not is another story.

You can edit how it attacks power with a tuner

Thats what I do when I throw the slicks on.

My non HD trans will never see slicks......... Then again, I also said more than once that I'd never go F/I and I did a great job with that.....

Your trans is pretty much the same as mine, sans gearing, TC and diff. Keep both wheels spinning, you wont kill the diff.

Yeah, I'm more worried about the input shaft and chain than I am the diff

I've been told you have to unhook the wss to completely disable tcs.
