Educate me about under/over drive pulleys

Ok so please enlighten me about all these different pulleys other than for the snout on my m90... I see that some can allow you to gain some lost hp in the upper rpms and such.

So is there just 1 pulley I can buy that would net me some hp or do you have to buy a set or what?

I currently am running a ZZP underdrive pulley on my water pump and my coolant temps are the exact same as they were with the stock pulley. Besides the under drive effect it's much lighter than the stock pulley. I wouldn't say it has provided a seat of the pants difference but i believe ZZP claims a 3hp increase in the upper RPM range.

An overdrive pulley would be like a 3.4 compared to a 3.8 on your supercharger. It is a smaller pulley in comparison designed to make an accessory work harder.

An underdrive pulley, on the contrary, is a larger diameter pulley designed to make an accessory work less which frees up more horsepower.

k i see how that works... ya I was looking at the w/p underdrive pulley for a few more hp cause once the 2.8 is on and im tuned, not much else for power to get without going cam

If you are only using it as a cooler, fill the bottle with CO2 and save an assload of money. You would benifit quite a bit from a small shot of nitrous, even with an intercooler.

Never heard of a fogger, but sounds like what is down there, but I don't think he bought it, thought he made it to fit the A2W setup cause the mount is different shaped and sized?

You have a bar that runs in front of your FMHE that blows nitrous on it to cool the charge even more right? I didn't realize anyone ran those with an A2W setup. I always thought mostly turbo guys with A2A intercoolers did.

yep, its setup to purge starting at 75% throttle iirc, i can turn it off if I want too...

lol ive got a few "dont touch those" and "ooooo what do those do" buttons on the underside of the front console just above my right knee haha

just never heard of it refered to as a fogger before but that makes perfect sense

honestly until I found out he installed it on this car, i never once had heard of it or anyone doing it on s/c or turbo cars, at least not w-bodies

A 30 shot would probably net you a lot more horsepower than that just because it will drop the IATs so much. You wont be able to contain yourself and will eventually jet it up higher.
