Had a case learn performend, but PCM cannot be toched...

I would first like to say THANK YOU to bikrboy128. He performed a well needed case learn on my gtp, and it is running great.

During this we were trying to dump the pcm on his laptop to check the tuning (I had purchased a pre tuned pcm). He was using HP Tuners and was unsuccessful.

In the past, another fellow w body guy had tried to tune my stock pcm. He was also unsuccessful as the settings would not dump onto his laptop. He was not using HP Tuners. So two diffrent PCM's that are not able to be dumped which would allow tuning.

Anyone know what could be causing the car not allowing a tuner to read the settings?

My car is an 01 GTP with a DHP pcm. Thanks for the help!

DHP = locked pcm.

I bought the pcm off of ebay. The seller claimed in a private message that it is a dhp tuned pcm though... Man that would suck if it were true. I wonder how he was able to program it to my vin number but then have it locked... It doesn't make sense.

i kept getting an error when it would try reading the PCM, but i could scan the car without issue.

Some are locked, some are not. It can be flashed over though. I have several "unlocked" DHP files.

Hmmm I wonder what I should do. My stock pcm gave me the same problem... Any recomedations/fixes for this problem?

ron is correct, you will have to have a file pre-made, and then do a full write directly over it. i also have some 1.5 files if you need....

It would let me pull and save the bin but not read it. It just needs to be flashed over for it to work.

Thats exactly what it is an old OSID, and yes I have the bin on my laptop.......somewhere

then your probably stuck writing a newer osid bin and copying the 1.0 or 1.5 stuff over

You think a HP Tuner will be able to conquer the first pcm that you tried? How about the dhp pcm?
