gxp questions?

not sure where to post this but, im possibly lookin into gettin a 06 GXP, any known issues to look out for? whats the normal going price with roughly 35-45k miles?

You will get alot of gxp info on LS1tech look in the ls4 section or clupgp...i would be happy to answer any questions you have................right now you can find 08s with very little miles for under 20 if you look around...................so i would not pay more than mid teens for ones with the mileage you mentioned.

The weak point is the trans, just like all grand prixs...so check that out big time. The tires are expensive - so if they are almost bald - make the dealer change them....or be prepared to drop almost a grand on them. The stock tires are not the best in the snow either this is my second IL winter so it is doable...but a snow set would be ideal. Other than the trans there is not any common problems besides the ISS. why are the comparable imp ss's so much cheaper? i know they are a lil slower in the 1/4 due to the lack of tap shift... but... why?

i drove my friends dads imp ss and fell in love with it...

Maybe because there are more available? They are basically the same car, the GXP has some added benefits and features but there pricing really shouldn't be that much different.

Upgraded suspension, hud, staggered wheel tire package, DIC, Crossdrilled rotors and colored calipers, uhhhh....

But to be honest the resale on the GXP blows too...

staggered wheel package while cool in theory, would just make me sad when i needed to rotate tires... dic? doesnt the imp have something along those lines? rotors and calipers... thats cool.

i think the gxps look cooler, but i like the stealthness of the impalas...

Not just firmer, the GXPs have Bilstein stuff whereas the Impalas have delco stuff.

The wheel package can be annoying but it helps you hook better and the car handles well. No Hud in any chevy other than the Vette. Driver information Center. I believe the Pontiac DIC is more advanced than the Chevy.

My 06 has about 15K and I would be lucky to get 15K for it, sucks.

i was going to look at gxp's and imp's SS's.. but then came across my current vehicle and the little kid in me came out... and I got mine when they were taking the plunge... lol

i bought mine with 13,000 on it i now have 35k, no problems with the tranny, but i did have problem with the steering shaft, a wiring issues with the dic, replaced heater core, new pads and rotors, tires, rear pads, part of the steering wheel replaced

2 rear wheel bearings, wheel alignment, belt tensioner snapped off, calipers replaced, it was a tsb for the "gxp" coming off, i think thats it

over all i cant complain, iam happy with the car,
