“Holiday Helper” Job Description

This is a full-time “holiday job” with a set end date; no benefits are included in this temporary position. The position pays a competitive hourly rate. “Holiday Helpers” will be expected to perform the following:

• Demonstrate state-of-the-art telecommunication device features and the U-verse system (where offered) for customers in retail stores and kiosks
• Help pre-qualify customers’ needs
• Set customer product and service expectations
• Help management with sales support duties
• Help manage customer traffic during peak sales periods

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

• Ability to professionally and knowledgably interact with customers
• Tech-savvy, eager to quickly learn wireless device features, applications, capabilities and benefits (and U-verse where offered)
• Comfortable asking probing questions to determine customers’ needs and expectations to ensure selection of the correct device/product and service options
• Thrive in a fast paced, high energy retail sales environment
• Previous retail and/or wireless communications experience is a plus
• High school diploma; minimum age - 18

Responsibilities:

• Learn features and benefits of wireless devices and U-verse product (where offered)
• Conduct needs analysis to help match customers’ requirements with the correct wireless device or product and service
• Proficiently demonstrate device features, applications, capabilities and benefits for prospective customers
• Hand customer off to sales associate when available
• Greet customers and direct them to appropriate section of store; assist manager with customer traffic flow into and out of the store
• Assist manager with numerous sales support duties, such as inventory and merchandising maintenance

Required Service Commitment:

• 40 hours per week from November 5 – January 5, 2008; overtime may be needed at peak times
• Availability for flexible schedules during typical retail hours – Sunday through Saturday; 9 AM – 10 PM; store managers complete and post weekly schedules in advance
• Efforts will be made to accommodate students who have schedule commitments

Additional:

• Web based and hands-on wireless and U-verse product training will be provided.
• We offer a competitive hourly rate of $10 - $12.
• Dress code is an AT&T shirt (which will be provided) and khaki or black pants.
• Availability of the positions was determined by staffing needs for each store. Please note that opportunities are not available in every retail location.
