3800 hard start issue

so heres the deal its a 98 gtp, sometimes it starts right up like normal.. sometimes it will take up to 10 sec. to fire. and when it does it spudders to life.

my suspisions were:
crank possiosion sensor
fuel regulator
fuel pump

however brought it to a friends shop to use the scanner and everything looked good in the data stream.

any thoughts? suggestions?

What kind of upkeep/regular maintenance have u done to it?

are you certain the FPR isn't leaking?

how long has it been since the fuel filter was changed?

nothing really other than oil changes, tranny fluid flush, and brakes. had the car for about a year and its got almost 80k on it. not sure if anything before was done to it.

no fuel on the intake, havent pulled the line and checked though. not sure the last time the filter was changed.

pulling that line off should be the first thing to check before even scanning. those are very common problems with the 3x00. if the line has any kind of a gas residue it should be replaced.

also change that filter it will slow your fuel delivery down BIG time
