3800 1.9 rockers?

I got some quick questions for you guys. I have the zzp 1.9 Rockers that I want to put on my Regal. My question is what else should I buy to go along with these rockers. Do I really need to put new valve springs in? Should I order some new bolts to go along with them? I bought these from Bob (Sinr47) and I want to make sure I have everything for the installation..

Just want to make sure I get everything I need Bob , Thats great that I don't have to buy valve springs. I'll just order the bolts. I already have the gaskets. Voytek still busy?

there have been multple broken springs Just running Stock springs. search is your friend. go ahead take a chance, you might be lucky, you might not.

Stock springs could NOT handle my 1.8/1.85 modded stock rocker combo. Just switch them now.

FWIW - I've been running modded 1.9 rockers with stock springs for about a year now

I haven't seen one car break stock springs with modded 1.9s. But if you have 50K+, I'd at least swap in new stockers.

I had about 70K when i put in the 1.9's and at 80K i had valve float. I installed new stock springs and no more valve float.

your kidding right? you mean you never saw one personally, because someone posted here recently about a busted stock spring with 1.9 modded rockers. ignorance is bliss. :lolsign:

The only recent person I know that has busted a spring was Tom Glover, but he had a VS cam. Seriously, I haven't heard of someone breaking a spring with modded stockers. If they have, please point it out and I'l' change my tune.

I have about 145k on my engine....I think that based on the responses I will definitely buy new springs. Where have you guys bought your new stock springs from? The only place that I could think out of the top of my head that could sell these is the dealer, is that accurate?

I would price them from a dealer, then talk to Mike K. about it also. He works with local dealerships and can more than likely get you a better price.

I installed the yellow (LS1 spings I think) when I installed my 1:8 rollers. That seemed to be the right way to do it to keep the valves planted up to 6K rpm.
