3800 I need your help!

I spun a rod bearing and am in the process of getting a new motor, hopfully from ed. The shop wants to charge me $1k to take out and put in a new motor. I am willing to pay someone from the forum to come do the install, I would help of course (not the greatest mechanic ) But I live in Freeport Illinois. Its about 90 min from wheaton, near Rockford Illinois. I most likely have all the needed hand tools, but I do not have an engine lift. ANY help would be GREAT, as I do not want to drop 2k into this mess.

Its out of a 2004 GTP with 65k on the clock. It cost 1 shipped. Let me know though, im on spring break next week, and like I said, motor will be here Tuesday, at latest wednesday.And im off of work tuesday-thursday

i dont have a lift i can take with me. it wouldnt fit in my car.... and i dont have a truck. if you can get one that would be better. or is there any places that you can rent one maybe?

The motor hasnt come in yet today, so it should come in tomorrow. Ed said today or latest tomorrow, so hopfully ill see it tomorrow. I will let everyone know whats going on.

unless he's got them on order from a dealer out there, it's unlikely he'll be able to get one on the spot. Dealers/parts places in Freeport are kinda smallish. so if someone is goin out, might want to take them parts with

im gonna be taking a engine hoist, tools and a friend of mine that has done swaps before. i would pick up the LIM gasket and S/C gasket but im kind of low on funds. till i start the new job on friday.

The motor came later than it was suppose to. Its out for delivery right now, so itll be coming today.
