Does anyone else have the problem with their Grand Prix smelling like antifreeze after driving? I have taken it in to have it looked at and there are no leaks it just smells like antifreeze after being driven.

if it smells of antifreeze after driving, there is a leak. that's it.

finding the source is the problem. could be water pump. could be plastic elbow on belt tensioner bracket. could be head gasket (coolant into exhaust) (tho it would be hard to miss this one) also could be heater core.

may not always leak when running, it could be a cold leak. (leaks only at specific temp and @ a certain pressure range.

you should be able to rent a coolant pressure tester from autozone or something, or hell they are not too expensive, but when it is warm, pressurize the system. then leave it on it for a few hours, and see if it holds pressure. if it does, then you may not have a leak. your t-stat may have stuck, or might be sticking, which could cause that smell too.

but more than likely, you have a leak somewhere. the pressure should make it much easier to find the leak.
