What kind/where can I buy soldering irons like the ones at caspers?

I've been doing alot of soldering fixing/putting together a bunch of instrument electronics and the typical cheapo just isnt cutting it for me.

I miss my desk with all the proper tools.

Man, I wish I had the $ to buy that. Im using some cheap o soldering iron for my xmods. Probably why I cant get a good connection. That and the use of cheap ass solder.

hey now. i use radioshack solder irons and solder for my xmods.... maybe someone doesnt know how to solder lol ;-)

they have a lame website, but the hakko stuff works well for me. the iron has many different tip type available as well which makes life easy if you do a wide variety of work ... This station is pretty decent and is sub $100

I will admit. I am a newbie solderer. However, take off the top cover of an EVO and look at the FETS. I have to solder 4 small ass wires to the pads closest to the motor connections.

That is not easy for even an experienced solderer IMO.
