3800 New car shopping: 04-06 GT-GTP?

Looking to purchase and 04-06 GT or GTP for the wifey.....

Any problems w/these that I should be aware of or look out for?

John, The 04-06 years are very reliable. Just like any other car as long as you maintain your in good shape. I have the 04 and I have 93k miles on it w/o a single problem. Never took it in for anything as of yet and I got fairly built up motor. The trans is still strong on her. I'm very pleased for a car that got a new design. I was very skeptical at first on the 04s, but now I can say they are great cars along with the 05s and 06s

Lol.. I hear ya. I use to drive to Wheelin and back to Huntley every day on top of my gallavanting around after work, but I dont do that as much anymore so I hope I dont hit 100k for a while

I would get an 05 because there were quite a few TSB's for the 04's.

He's right, but I still never had a problem. I never told anyone this. My cars was a rent a car in Florida for 9000 miles ( I got it with 9500 miles). They may have sent it back whenever they found the bulletins.

I would buy an 05 so you don't have to worry about any of the service bullitins

Honestly i never had a problem with my 04 expect the headlight problem but the 05's have the same problem...me and mikes3 never had a problem with our 04's never been to the dealer for any problem he had 97k on his and i got 43k

I never had any problems on my 04 and I drove the hell out of that thing.

P.S. I have 6000 miles on my car and I have only had it a month and 2 weeks

TSB's dont mean there are problems with every car. it means GM has had some warrnaty claims for a certain problem, and they want to make it easier for the technition to diagnose/repair.

i wouldnt be a bit afraid to buy an 04.
