3800 Bad ball joint

Ok, so I have a messed up ball joint. After messing with a couple suspension parts, i've finally got everything narrowed down to this. I need to change it......anyone else had to do it or know what I'm getting myself into?

if it has never been replaced before, its harder to do... there should be 4 rivets holding it in place that need to be ground off/chizeled off. other than that, its just a matter of disconnecting the cv shaft, and swinging the steering knuckle out of the way... including disconnecting tie rod end, etc.

i very very very strongly also reccomend an alignment after this is done.

haha, ok. I've done three alignments the past two weeks......i think firestone hates me right now. Mainly cause they're all free

sonuvabitch........fuckin rivets......i broke a chisel, so it went to firestone, cause I ain't gonna mess with it cause I can't chance my car not running right. I gotta pick it up tomorrow tho dang it. I hate this shit

yeah dont worry about it. I don't have any air tools, and once i had my car up, i didn't have anyone that could help me. It's all cool tho. Saving me some time, tho definatly not money

you werent using a wood chisel, were you??

ok, so it didnt like shatter or anything, but the entire front of it is messed up, like half of it is bending north, the other end south. It was straight, now its pointing at different angles. kinda hard to describe. I can't use it again tho

buying the GM control arms and installing them with the ball joints already on them is pretty easy......just a little work...

I just replaced both of my ball joints 2 weeks ago. Only took about an hour and a half a side. The air chisel didnt work for me.....I ended up drilling the rivet heads off. Oh...there are only 3 rivets per ball joint, not four like stated eariler.
