3800 mUSTANG qUESTION

Since I only knew one guy with one and he moved to Arizona, Ill ask you guys.. The cobra comes with a 2.8 stock right...we have to do all this stuff to our cars to drop that low... Here are my questions...

1 Does a cobra have a intercooler stock.. wont they have any sort of knock...

2 are they set up to run smaller like we can...

the answer to your question #1 is yes, they come factory intercooled. they have knock same as out engines.

#2, they can run a smaller pullies..in fact they can run 2 smaller pullies. they use under drive pullies to help spin the super charger faster, as well as the SC pulley itself.

they are setup to run a low low 13, with a good driver breaking into 12's stock. an 03 cobra up here decided to do a solid rear swap. he's pushing a lot of power. all you need is one instance of wheel hop in those and there goes the stock rear/halfshafts.

also you're looking at an Eaton M112 blower. Ours of course are M90s. The M112 is a much larger displacement blower, which allows for more air at lower outlet temps. M112's are the most efficient blower produced by Eaton, and far surpass ours. That's why people look at swapping out the 90 for the 112. That adds to the ability to run a smaller pulley.

Damn it I really want a Cobra. Far as I'm concerned, a Cobra is not a mustang.

Knock sensors. The sensors that sense KR. From what I hear Cobras are not equipped with them from the factory.

Very interesting. Now I am plying stupid here so bare with me. Are you saying they may not come with knock sensores at all from the factory or they just really suck

i watched hp tv, and they made 364whp stock, and with a tune, and a pulley swap is made 427whp.

they dropped to a 3.25" pulley, then to a 3.0 iicr

I knew a guy back in 04 with a Brand new cobra that was pulling 12.8s on street tires and 12.4s stock.....

Needless to say, he was one of the first few guys with blown haftshafts....I think he did it 2 times in less then 6 months.

Anyway, the HP numbers for the mustangs arnt really as comparable to some other muscle cars. The numbers dont really match the track times.
