3800 gains from 75mm tb?

with my mods, what kind of gains can i expect to see out of a 75mm tb? probably a wbs kit so ill be using a stock maf. i know i need to be thinking trans but i want to take this as far as i can.

also mike, i will email you if this is a good mod for me right now, but will u be able to bring this to mod day? and the discount still apply or is that over?

You can gain a decent bit from it, but it's subjective depending on the total package.

If you were a high boost/rocker car, you would have more to gain. It will definately help, somwhere on the order of 1-2mph trap in your case. However, IMHO cammed cars don't see as much of a gain with a TB. The inlet of the SC needs to be as open and unrestricted as possible, the vacuum created before it can drag the rotors increasing parasitic loss and generating heat. The purpose of a bigger TB is generally to reduce this loss and help cool the outlet SC temps. Of course the extra flow is nice, but the stock TB can actually flow enough air for a pretty high HP motor.

If you can go for the option of using an outboard MAF you'd be better off. Don't get the "re-calibrated" ones either...already hard enough to tune a maf, let alone one that the electronics have been modified in! Go for the LQ4 MAF, cheap, reliable, and flow tons of air.

1-2mph trap speeds could mean .1 in the quarter. i went from 13.71@99 to 13.0@104

ron just sayed it would depend on the setup
for turbo guys its not a huge gain even with the outboard maf(we need it for other reasons)
he said cammed cars wont see as much
so 2mph gain is more the ladder of the gains, on a real good tune and perfect weather it might be possible

So with a stock blower & XP cam I'm not going to see noticable gains with a LS1 TB? What is the size of a LS1 tb? I'm currently running a stocker TB right now and still cant cure my rough idle. I was going to swap out TB's tonight to see what that does. I think my TPS may be bad. Switching TB's should tell me correct?

ls1 is 80mm IIRC, and LS1s ive heard cause a rough idle...so i think it would make the car worse(at idle)

i beleive ls1 is 75mm. for your idle....with xp and ic, my car loves the ltft at +16 at idle. it really smoothed out the idle, the lope is there, but thats the best part of having the cam

I am currently running a zzp S1 tb. I think I cam going to just go to an lq4 maf and block the stock location. If I remember correctly, Zooomer is running the ZZP S2 L67 tb on his 9 second car.
