3800 Anyone got a 4L60-E laying around?

Yea so my brother-in-law's 1993 S10 broke down. He's only 16 and doesn't have a ton of money obviously. So if anyone has one that works and they just need to get rid of it or whatever LMK. I found a couple near Blue Island for around $325, but they are at a junk yard, and no idea if they work or not. Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

I have one that doesnt have 3rd or 4th gear.....not sure what a rebuild kit costs..you can have it for 50bux.

Alright I'll talk to his dad. The tranny that is in it just won't let it shift out of park. We were thinking that the pin that holds it in gear for parking is worn out. Still need to drop the pan to find out for sure though.

just because it wont shift out of park doesnt neccessarily mean that a mechanical part is busted inside the tranny....

Well we already looked at the linkage and from what we could tell everything should move except something that is in the tranny. But then again we could be wrong.

i wasnt actually refering to a mechanical part at all... rather electronics.

Well to revive a dead thread...

Found that the silver rod on the inside of the tranny on the driver side w/a spring on it was bent.

Soooo, if anyone has a tranny that they are willing to part out or sell really cheap LMK.
