3800 question about perf shift and impala ss

My friend has an 04 impala ss. the supercharged one. He wants me to order his car for the power tuner. My question is, do I need to hook up the performance shift for his car? I have been out of the loop for awhile, does someone sell a switch for it. I know a gtp shifter nob will not work for him, since he has the daytona version and has the nice interior in it. Thanks!

Zack, I don't recall if the 04' Impala uses the same PCM as the 04 Grand Prix but I want to say it does (you can verify this by looking for it in the driver's side of the engine compartment - It will be smaller than the old PCM with 2 rectangular connections). If it does you will not need to wire in a switch. If it uses the old style PCM you will need to ground out pin 21 on the PCM.

thanks mike, so if it is a newer style pcm, then the dhp program just comes into effect when you go wot i assume?
