3800 Knee bent sideways

Well today I was going to finish up a shortblock and tranny swap. I was pushing the car and to get it rolling I had to push as hard as I could. I was pushing, when all of a sudden my left knee bent sideways and I collapsed. Luckily my neighbor was in his driveway when it happened. I screamed for him and he ran over and called 911. Ambulance took me to the hospital where the doctor told me I had dislocated my knee (dead giveaway was the knee cap on the side of my knee) and possibly fractured several parts of my knee. The doctor snapped the knee back into place and we took some x rays. The x rays are being sent over to a specialist to see the extent of the damage. They loaded me up with some morphine at the hospital and gave me a prescription of Vicodin. So now I am laying on my parents couch with a big ass immobilizing knee brace waiting to hear back about how bad this really is. I have never been in so much pain in my entire life. Here is a picture of my leg, my upper leg is laying flat on the back of my thigh and the lower part is twisted around pretty nasty. You can also see my knee cap about 4" away from where it should be. Digital Ken has already given me a few websites to check out about dealing with knee injuries, since he had an extremely bad one last year.

I had that happen to me about 8 times.... EXCEPT my knee popped out of place then went back. That was the worst pain ive ever had so i know yours had to be at least 3x worse. Sorry to hear it man. If nothing is broken you will probably just have physical therapy for a while and lots of daily exercises. GL hope ya get better

I work best when I work alone, less distractions. I hate working with people on cars, the only way to know something is done right is to do it yourself. ;)

exactly what mybluegtp said :smokepoke: - drink up n smoke up

that looks most painful, dude

i thought you could use some sympathy:

It was on asphalt, just too much pressure on it trying to get the car rolling with the wheels turned. It was the weirdest thing, I didn't slip at all, my knee just couldnt take the pressure and gave out sideways.

Sorry to hear, that stuff can take a long time to heal sometimes. Good luck, and I hope a speedy recovery for you.

SHIT!!

I know I've had beef with you in the past, but all that crap aside, best wishes with the recovery...

I've had my fair share of leg and knee injuries, but that is a pretty insane picture.
Make sure you enjoy having people wait on you yoo! :p That was probably the only thing I enjoyed after breaking my leg awhile back...
