3800 Dynoed the car today

Well I dynoed the car at our annual Dyno Day for MIGPC. Was a little disappointed with the HP numbers, but considering what I have its pretty good. And my torque kinda made up for it. Had to swap the plugs there since I didn't have time at home and close the gap since I was seeing some KR and I used race gas to kill the rest. You can find my mod list here

Numbers were as follows:

296.1 HP
404 lbs torque
A/F ratio was 17.5

If anyone wants to see the graph let me know and I will scan it.

Actually I have been finding especially at our dyno day that my car is not performing any less than an XP car. For the most part I am right there with guys who have an XP and other supporting mods. So I am not a firm believer that the XP is that much better than the VS especially after today

It's all in the tune.

Both cams on mediocre tunes will run similarly, but if both are tuned perfectly, the XP will certainly outshine the VS.

The XP cam is overused in my opinion. It's a GREAT cam and makes awesome power, but only really does so when a good amount of time is taken with the tune. The VS cam seems more forgiving, in that even a decent tune will make very respectable power.

I've found the same thing as the XP applies to my S1X as well, though to a slightly lesser extent. Hell, a tune with the AFC 2.0 on the dyno picked up over 15hp above the baseline pull and that was with a 2.8 pulley and NO timing advance over the normal DHP tables.

I need to get back to a good dyno now that I got the kinks worked out of my setup (literally, as I had an IC line kinked stopping all water flow during my PB runs)
